10 Kpop Christmas Covers To Blast This Season

Updated: Dec 18, 2022

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's officially time to deep dive into the Christmas season! As we gear up for the final holiday of the year, you can bet that holiday classics will be blasting from every cafe, restaurant, department store, and home around the world.

Unfortunately, unless you're in South Korea, you won't be hearing any of your favorite Kpop artists sing their hearts out to "Winter Wonderland" while you're out holiday shopping. We took it upon ourselves to make a list of 10 Kpop Christmas covers that will get you in the holiday spirit!

10. BTS - Santa Clause Is Comin' To Town

Starting off the list with a lighthearted tune is Santa Clause Is Comin' To Town. The song itself is fun, joyful, and even the Grinch can't fight a smile when this song starts to play. The members of BTS have a similar effect on their fans all over the world.

As the members dance and sing along, it's hard to fight the urge to do the same. This cover is the perfect way to begin getting in the Christmas spirit this year!

9. Billlie - All I Want For Christmas Is You

Although Billlie's original sound is very experimental, each member showcases their vocal abilities in this cover of All I Want For Christmas Is You! The members effortlessly perform the vocal runs throughout this cover, and the harmonies are fantastic.

Billlie could have been extremely intimidated when it came to covering this Christmas classic, but they performed the song beautifully. The combination of husky and light vocals throughout the recording is extremely engaging to the ear.

While many have performed this song over the years, Billlie's cover is undeniably fresh and impressive!

8. Just B's Bain - Snowman

Just B may be a rookie group, but one member, Bain, went viral before the group even debuted! Last holiday season, Sia's song Snowman became one of the most notable songs of the year due to its "one breathe challenge" that was all over the internet.

The song went viral again after pieces of different covers were put into a mashup. One piece of the mashup that entranced listeners actually came from Bain's cover!

Not only are his vocals stunning, but the effect this cover had across social media was simply too iconic not to include in our list.

7. Ailee - Grown Up Christmas List

Ailee's cover of Grown Up Christmas List is sure to make you a little emotional this Christmas season. After years of dealing with the pandemic, global tensions, and more, it's safe to say that everyone is exhausted.

This cover perfectly mixes childhood naivety with the feeling of adulthood responsibility. Not to mention, Ailee's vocals are absolutely stunning. Although it may not be as cheerful as other holiday tunes, Grown Up Christmas List had to be shared.

6. Young K - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

If you don't know, Day6's Young K is basically the Korean Frank Sinatra. He has charm, wit, and talent. It's no surprise that this isn't the first time he's covered a song that Sinatra is famous for performing.

The vocals throughout this cover are smooth, and the emphasis on the jazz instruments between verses is a beautiful inclusion. If Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas doesn't ignite your desire to sip hot chocolate in front of a fireplace, I don't know what will.

5. Jamie and Gaho - Baby It's Cold Outside

The vocals in this cover of Baby It's Cold Outside are absolutely mind-blowing. Typically, Gaho is known for ballads and OSTs, and Jamie is a Korean pop artist. I've never heard either of them perform a song with such a jazz centered sound.

That being said, this genre fits both of their voices beautifully. Their chemistry sparks throughout this entire performance, and they easily became a power duo we never knew we needed. They delivered a really great cover!

4. Solar - Santa Baby

Solar rose to stardom with her group MAMAMOO, but she takes on this cover as a solo performance. Her deeper range is perfect for the sultry attitude this song is so well known for.

This cover of Santa Baby is fun, flirty, and perfect for anyone that likes to walk the line between naughty and nice. It's definitely a song that encourages you to have a little extra fun during the holidays.

3. Hongjoong - Last Christmas

Last Christmas in undeniable one of the most well known Christmas songs to have ever been written. Not only is it impressive that Ateez's rapper sang this cover, it's amazing that he even wrote in his own verses.

Throughout this new generations of Kpop, Hongjoong is known for being an incredible leader, rapper, writer, and producer. I love that he was able to bring his own style to this cover. It's so nice to hear such a fresh take on a song that is so commonly played during this time of year.

2. Gaho - Mistletoe

Gaho already made our list once, but he's too good not to include again. His voice is so clear and beautiful, and it's obvious that he has loads of fun when he's performing. Plus, this Justin Bieber track quickly became a classic for all Millennials and Get Z-ers.

This cover of Mistletoe is so catchy and cute. Even if you claim to dislike Bieber, or even Kpop, you can't help but sing along to the song that has taken the season by storm since 2011.

1. Kard - Santa Tell Me

This Kard cover is actually one of the most shocking covers on this list. I expected the female members, Somin and Jiwoo, to knock this song out of the park, but the male members of the group really nailed it!

If you would have told me before seeing this that BM and J.seph sang Santa Tell Me extremely well, I probably would have been extremely confused.

But, they did! This cover is so good and catchy! They sang this song very well, and singing the verses in a duet style it such a nice twist.

That officially ends our list of Kpop covers of Western Christmas songs. But, we are sharing an early gift of our own!

While everyone can be appreciative of Korean artists that cover English songs, there's nothing quite as special as artists performing their own work.

That is why we have made our very own playlist of Korean Christmas songs that you can listen to here!

Our Christmas But Make It Kpop playlist is full of new and old releases from some of our favorite artists in the Korean music industry!

Be sure to check it out, and let us know what you think!

Most importantly, have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
